Do I need 115 or 220 Volt air conditioner?

A 115 Volt Air Conditioner uses the standard voltage available in your home or office. A 230 Volt Air Conditioner needs different breaker amps (examples: 15 amp Tandem 20 amp Perpendicular 30 amp Large Tandem) which require a different type of electric plug. (For pictures of different plug types available, go to question 14)

Are your units energy efficient?

By purchasing Energy Star qualified products you help minimize greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants caused by other inefficient air conditioner units. Also, Energy Star products make it much easier for you to choose energy-efficient air conditioners that produce significant savings on energy bills without giving up performance, features, and comfort.

Are the measurements displayed on your website the exact dimensions of the A/C unit?

The measurements listed are of the outside diameter of the sleeve, or wall opening (not the unit).

I was wondering if you have any units that fit the crank-out style windows; is there a separate installation kit?

Check our casement units page; no sleeves are made for this type of window. You will have to make a custom installation for the casement unit.

What is the difference between a Window kit and a Trim kit?

Window Kits are used to set up an air conditioner through a sliding window. They generally include support brackets for stability. Trim Kits are used to install air conditioning units through a wall opening, and include a hard plastic frame to seal the gap between the unit and the wall.

Do room air conditioners dehumidify?

All air conditioners take moisture out of the air but they are not considered a dehumidifier on their own. We do sell individual dehumidifiers.

What is EER all about?

The “Energy Efficiency Ratio” (EER) of a room air conditioner is a rating of its operating efficiency. To determine the EER, you divide the BTU/Hr cooling capacity by the amount of electric power consumed (watts). The higher the EER, the more cooling your customer gets for his money and the lower the operating costs for comparable cooling capacity. Each model’s EER is clearly marked on it’s energy hang tag.

Do you have Window and Wall Air Conditioners that do not stick out of my wall?

Yes, they are called Solid-Sided Units. If you wish to order Solid-Sided Units, it is necessary to know the height and width of the installation area and voltage you have available for the unit.

Do I need to purchase a bucket for my Portable Air Conditioner?

No, most Portable Air Conditioners come with a bucket. If the Portable does not come with a bucket it will be specified in the specs of that unit.

What is the difference between a plug types?

There are currently 15 different types of electrical outlet plugs in use today. Types vary based on voltage, rating, size, shape and country. The most common used in the US are A and B. (See chart).
